Pleasant Hill Middle Academic Resources (Please note that these may look different during distance learning):

Peer Tutoring: 

Peer tutoring

 

  • Offered Tuesdays and Thursdays in the school library from 2:30-3:30pm.  Students who may need support with understanding concepts or following through with homework completion are paired with Pleasant Hill Middle student tutors 
  • Students are recommended for peer tutoring by staff.  Once recommended, we reach out to student and family and provide peer tutoring permission slip
     

Homework Club:

  • Open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30pm. 
  • Sponsored by Math teachers, Mr. Utler (Room 702) & Mr. Selby (Room 302)
  • Students can drop in at any time within the hour.  No permission slip required


Community Resources:

  • Community Youth Center (CYC): The Community Youth Center (CYC) is a state-of-the-art sports and academic center where youth ages 3 to 18 thrive in a dynamic and positive environment.
    • Tutoring and study space available Monday-Thursday 3:00 - 8:00 pm and Friday 3:00 - 6:00 pm

  • Monument Crisis Center: Monument Crisis Center is a community-based non-profit family resource center.
    • After School Cafe every Wednesday and Thursday with homework help.  Email: afterschoolcafe2350@gmail.com.

Mount Diablo Adult Education offers parenting support classes and classes for students exhibiting at-risk behaviors.  Classes are free for families living within Mount Diablo Unified boundaries. 
 

Social, Emotional and Crisis services in community

  • Crisis and Suicide Hotline: Dial 2-1-1 on your phone.  You can also text “HOPE” to 20121
  • 211 Contra CostaThe Contra Costa Crisis Center manages an extraordinary database of useful resources and information for County residents.  You can access social service and health information 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling the three digit, toll-free number “211” from any phone.  Nearly 700 agencies and organizations contribute to provide more than 1,600 services and programs to County residents in need via the 211 database.  Spanish.

Affordable Connectivity Program

The Affordable Connectivity Program provides eligible households with up to a $30 discount off their monthly internet bill or a $75/month discount on Tribal lands. It also provides a one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet purchased through a participating provider when the eligible household contributes at least $10-$49 toward the purchase

 

You may qualify if your household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or a member of the household participates in certain federal assistance programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid, SSI or WIC, or Tribal assistance programs. More information is here

FREE Online Tutoring

FREE Online Tutoring:

The California State Library is offering free, online, 24/7  tutoring, and homework help in English Language Arts and Mathematics. This service is offered 24/7 in English or Spanish. Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog language services are offered from 10am until 10pm daily.
